• The White House released a report Tuesday titled The Cost of Delaying Action to Stem Climate Change.

    White House officials believe delays will have major negative economic consequences. In fact, the report finds delaying policy actions by a decade would increase total mitigation costs by nearly 40 percent. Failing to take any action would risk substantial economic damage according to the report.

    White House counselor John Podesta says the lack of action on Capitol Hill is a lagging indicator of public policy and he believes the Republican-led House will catch up with the political reality at some point.

  • USDA Deputy Secretary Krysta Harden announced the availability of more than $9 million of outreach and technical assistance for minority farmers, ranchers and military veterans new to farming through the Outreach and Assistance for Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers and Veteran Farmers and Ranchers Program or the 2501 Program.

    Since 2010 the program has distributed more than $57 million to 188 partners.
