While I'm not a real horror movie lover, I have seen a few. I have my pick for scariest movie monster. What's yours?

The classics like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy and the Wolf Man all scared me when I was a kid. Dracula scared me the most, probably because all kids go through a fascination with vampires. While not a movie monster, Bigfoot scared me, too. I used to think he was roaming around near our White Swan-area ranch, peeking in my window at night.

Through the years I've seen a lot of movie monsters. Freddie, Jason, Michael Myers, Chucky, and all of the critters and psychos in Stephen King movies. none of them hold a candle to what I think is the scariest of them all, from my pick as the scariest movie I ever saw.

The xenomorph from 1979's "Alien."

First of all, the way the critter is introduced to the audience, bursting out of the chest of a space freighter's crew member is enough to make you jump through the ceiling. Then, unseen, it knocks off the crew one by one. By the time the final confrontation between the crew's lone survivor and the creature happens and you get to see the darn thing, you are totally blown away. Especially when it does that rolling-out-the-tongue-with-teeth thing.

Ewww.
