With Marshawn Lynch holding out, backup running backs Robert Turbin and Christine Michael will be getting more work this week.

Lynch's absence means that Turbin and Michael will get more reps in practice. The plan was to give the two backups the bulk of the load in preseason games so that the Seahawks' No.1 runner could be rested for the regular season. Now Turbin, in his third year out of Utah State, and Michael, in his second year out of Texas A&M, will get to show the coaching staff whether they could be the featured ball carrier.

Lynch was placed on the "reserved/did not report" list Saturday, giving Seattle an extra roster spot. The Seahawks signed LB Brandon Denmark and FS Steven Terrell and waived/injured DT Dewayne Cherrington. ... WR Percy Harvin did not practice Saturday, part of Seattle's plan to rest him periodically during camp. ... RT Michael Bowie, competing for the starting job, also sat out Saturday after a minor injury to his shoulder on Friday.
