HAYDEN, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a Washington state man suffered non-life threatening injuries when his float plane flipped over during an attempted landing on Hayden Lake in northern Idaho.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says 75-year-old Terry L. Holman of Spokane climbed out of the 1978 Cessna after the crash at about 1 p.m. Sunday.

Officials say boaters in the area brought Holman to shore and he was transported to Kootenai Health.

Officials say a preliminary investigation found the dry-land landing gear in the down position during the attempted water landing, causing the craft to flip over.

The Northern Lakes Fire Department towed the Cessna to Holman's dock near the crash.
