Treaty Days Celebrations Gets Underway — Dave’s Diary

For members of the Yakama Nation this is a very special weekend.

Starting today the Yakama Nation celebrates Treaty Days -commemorating the 160th anniversary of its treaty.  The celebration is marked with parades, a pow wow, a rodeo and athletic tournaments.

This year it’s a double celebration as the Yakama Nation also recognizes the 35th anniversary of its Cultural Center and Museum .
