The election will be certified on Nov. 26. Auditor Charles Ross says if any race is tied or within the recount margin they will conduct hand recounts of those races. If any race is tied after the recount the winner is determined by a coin toss.
The person who was driving the wrong direction was killed but hasn't been identified. The other driver has been identified as 21-year-old Leandra Ramirez of Benton City.
The 40-year-old man from Grandview faces charges of burglary, unlawful possession of firearms, attempting to elude, malicious mischief, driving on a suspended license, and two outstanding arrest warrants.
The driver of the pickup was also transported to a local hospital for apparent minor injuries. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor in this case.
