Todd Lyons

My name is Todd E. Lyons. On the radio you probably know me as “Todd E. Lyons, Esquire.” Every morning, hundreds of women wake up with me. I have shared the airwaves in the mornings (6 to 9) with you since 1998, and look forward to it every day. I was born in Seattle, the son of a sharecropper. My family and I moved to the “Fruit Bowl of the Nation” when I was a wee lad of only 7. I spent my formative years in the West Valley of Yakima, indoctrinated in public school. I became keenly familiar with the “special” desk while attending Apple Valley Elementary. The teachers referred to it as the “isolation booth,” but I called it the “special desk.” Most of what I know today, however, can be credited to the “School of Hard Knocks.” I am extremely fortunate to work on the very radio station I grew up listening to. I loved listening to KATS so much when I was younger that I not only was a client, I became an employee! If you ever see me stumbling about this great valley of ours, please give me a shout. Seahawks ’12 Tour’ Rolls Through Yakima Today

The Seattle Seahawks "12 Tour" will make a stop in Yakima today as it winds through central Washington.
Hawks wide receiver Chris Matthews and defensive lineman Jimmy Staten will arrive at Performance Park at Second Street and Sgt. Pendleton Way in downtown Yakima at noon today (June 25). Joining the players will be members of the Sea Gals cheerleaders and Hawks mascot "Blitz."

In an effort to jump start what has been a disappointing offensive output thus far this season, the Seattle Mariners announced today that hitting coach Howard Johnson will be reassigned in the club's system and Hall of Fame member Edgar Martinez will take over the duty at the big league level.

Pink Heart-Shaped Cloud Hovers Over Yakima Valley Pippins During Cancer Awareness Night

During Monday night's Yakima Valley Pippins game in which the team wore special pink jerseys to acknowledge cancer awareness, a pink heart-shaped cloud formed over the ballpark during twilight.

The photo was captured by Brandi Van De Brake, whose son Jace is off to a tremendous start to the season batting .371 with eight RBI in nine games.

She captioned the photo on her Facebook page with:
"I think it's a pink heart cloud above my boy!"
