Central Washington University professor and newly elected 13th District state representative Matt Manweller was a guest on Friday's Mike Bastinelli show.

Manweller is a tenured  political science professor at CWU, and also taught high school math and economics.

He is also a writer, broadcaster and Christian Broadcasting Network contributor.

Manweller, who was elected November 6 as a Republican, was sworn in earlier this week  because of the resignation of former 13th District Representative Bill Hinkle.

Representative Manweller talked about being a conservative in academia, why he decided to run for state office, negative campaigning, and what he expects in the 2013 legislative session.
