Seahawks Sherman Named NFC Defensive Player of the Month

Seattle's All-Pro cornerback received the honor for his shutdown play in September.

Here are the stats on Sherman so far this season: eight tackles, six passes defensed and four interceptions, one returned for a touchdown.

It's the first such mention for the Stanford grad, and the first time ever that a Seahawks corner has been named a defensive player of the month.

Sherman took to Twitter to respond:

The Seahawks will travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts on Sunday on Newstalk KIT, with the broadcast starting at 9 a.m.
