Seahawks Resume OTA’s, Won’t Persue Green Bay Free Agent Tight End

The Seattle Seahawks got back to work on Monday at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center (VMAC) in Renton in their second week of organized team activities (OTA’s).

The no-contact drills got underway late Monday morning. After last weeks’ sessions, wide receiver Doug Baldwin and offensive lineman James Carpenter were singled out for praise by head coach Pete Carroll.

In other news. Seattle apparently will not pursue free agent tight end Jermichael Finley of the Green Bay Packers. The Seahawks had been taking a hard look at Finley earlier this spring, and Finley had expressed a desire to play in Seattle, but the team decided that the 2008 third-round draft pick’s injury history (knee, spine) was too great a risk.

Seattle seems to be fixed at the tight end position with veterans Zach Miller, Luke Willson, Anthony McCoy and others.
