Seahawks Could Be Thin at Wide Receiver This Week

Injuries have hit the Seahawks wideouts this week. What will the team do to be at full strength against the Vikings?

Veteran Braylon Edwards was supposed to see more playing time against the Lions last Sunday, but woke up that morning with a swollen, tender knee that could trouble him this week. Ben Obamanu injured his wrist against Detroit, but is iffy for the Vikings.  Last season’s leading receiver, Doug Baldwin, has been rehabbing a high ankle sprain, but is not expected to play Sunday.

Where does that leave the Seahawks this week against Minnesota?

Charly Martin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are relatively healthy, but the Seahawks may have to look for receiver help elsewhere.

Former Washington Husky Jermaine Kearse has played well on the practice squad and could be an option. Deon Butler, who was released last September is a possibility, and Terrell Owens name will undoubtedly come up along with disgruntled Kansas City receiver Dwayne Bowe.

You can catch the Seahawks and the Vikings this Sunday at 11 here on Newstalk KIT.

UPDATE: The Seahawks announced  Tuesday afternoon that they had promoted Kearse from the practice squad, and released defensive back Danny Gorrer to make room on the roster.
