The Cold Creek Fire continues to burn on White Pass but transportation officials have opened a portion of the highway. The fire is now at more than 400 acres with 5% containment. The State Department of Transportation says the Eastbound closure is three miles east of the summit near the Falls Overlook by Dog Lake.
The Westbound closure is eight miles east of the summit at the Upper Tieton Rd. Access for local and recreational traffic is allowed. Officials say they'll provide an update on the closure Friday afternoon.

The fire started Monday 6 miles east of the summit of White Pass. It's now along Highway 12 between Dog Lake and Clear Lake. Investigators are searching for a cause. More firefighters are expected on the fire lines Today. Level 2 "Be Set" Evacuation Notices are in effect. The fire is located along the area of Highway 12 between Dog Lake and Clear Lake. The evacuation notice encompasses areas around Clear Lake and Rimrock Lake, including areas on both sides of US 12.
