Veterans Memorial To Be Built In Sunnyside

On May 16, first husband Mike Gregoire, and State Veterans Director John Lee, will visit the veterans memorial that is now under construction on Edison Avenue near City Hall. Gregoire and Lee will discuss construction and completion of the project. When the memorial is finished, it will be one of the largest in the United States. An article in today's Yakima Herald says the memorial will be named after Jerry Taylor, former Sunnyside Mayer and World War II veteran. Taylor passed away in 1999.
