No Contract Yet Signed for Interim City Manager

Yakima City officials are still talking with 61 year old David Mercier to fill the shoes of City Manager Dick Zais on an interim basis. Earlier this month the city approved a contract to hire Mercier for up to a year but no contract has yet been signed. City Manager Dick Zais is still recovering at home from a serious blood clotting illness. He's expected to retire this summer. Mercier was the former city manager for Spokane Valley from 2003 to last year.
