Mudslide Closed White Pass Over Weekend

While the west side of the state remained under a flood watch or warning for most of the weekend, the Yakima Valley saw spring-like weather Sunday.

Yakima reached a high of 55 degrees Saturday and 66 degrees Sunday under mostly cloudy skies with a few sun breaks.

The Cascade passes saw lots of rain all weekend. On Saturday a mudslide along Highway 12 closed White Pass in both directions as crewed cleaned up the roadway Sunday. The Department of Transportation opened the highway shortly after noon.

More rain and snow is in the forecast for the passes this week.
