Seattle Mariners Ace Felix Hernandez out-dueled Texas Ranger Ace Yu Darvish, but it was the Rangers who scored two runs in the ninth to beat Mariners 3-2. Hernandez struck out nine and retired ten in a row before Leonys Martin hit a lead-off triple in the eighth inning ending Felix's night.  Meanwhile the Mariners scored two runs off Darvish.

The Mariners took a one-run lead into the bottom of the ninth but closer Fernado Rodney could not get the save. After retiring the first two batters , Kevin Kouzmanoff's hit a single that ricocheted off the glove of sliding shortstop Brad Miller and dribbled into the outfield. Mitch Moreland drew a walk before pinch-hitter Donnie Murphy's grounder was bobbled by Miller, whose toss to second base was high and allowed Moreland to slide in safely.  Rodney then threw a wild pitch to allow the tying run to score.

Then Martin came through again with a game-winning RBI single to left field to give the Rangers the 3-2 win.
