Man Found Dead on North First Street

Yakima Police say a man who was reported missing on March 5 was found dead Thursday morning in the area of Highway 12 and North First Street.

Capt. Rod Light says the man committed suicide by hanging himself in a tree in that area. The man was discovered by someone driving in the area.

Light says he was reported missing by his girlfriend.

They would part ways and then come back together but that didn’t happen this time so she became worried.

Light says police had been looking for the man before was discovered dead.
