I have to admit that I've done some unusual things in my radio career, but on Saturday I get to do something I've never done before.

This weekend Townsquare Media is presenting the first annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Faire at State Fair Park. There will be scores of unique hand-made gifts and food products all under one roof. I'll get to the details in a moment.

One of the features at the event will be appearances by the one and only Santa Claus! And guess who gets to play Santa for a couple of hours on Saturday? Me!

In my whole life, I've never, ever dressed up in a Santa suit. Not for nieces an nephews, not for my own kids. This is going to be something.

One of my uncles used to dress up as Santa when I was little and it's still a great childhood memory for me. I hope that I can give the same memory to some children this weekend.

Just a couple of things pop up in my mind. I don't want to scare any of them and I hope none of them wet their britches before they sit on my lamp.

Also, I actually have to put a pillow or two in this suit to get the Santa look. A couple of years ago I had my own padding!

Here are the details on the Holiday Craft Faire this weekend:

Nov. 21-23 at State Fair Park’s Modern Living Building.

The faire includes vendors from around the region bringing handmade creations, specialty foods and other artistic touches that would make distinctive gifts, decorations or self-indulgent treats just for you.

Here are the hours:

3-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21.

9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Parking is free.
