Hitting My Personal Blogging Milestone – Brian’s Blog

With this entry, I will reach a total of 2,500  posts for Newstalk KIT's website. That's a lot!

Since the KIT staff started writing stories and personal blogs a few years ago, I've seen some work pile up. Going back, some of my stories from the early days are pretty lame. My college writing skills had lain dormant for quite a while, and some of the technology I now use without thinking was hard to learn.

I've always enjoyed writing, and even though I've never been trained per se as a "journalist', I have had some journalism training. Also being in radio for as long as I have, you pick up a lot of things just by osmosis.

That being said, I'm grateful to my employers for giving me the opportunity to write a news and sports stories, and put some of my personality into cyber space. I think that's my favorite part, the entries I call "Brian's Blog." Just sharing some things about me, my family, and life in the Yakima Valley.

I would like to thank my partners in crime Dave Ettl and Lance Tormey for working as a team with me to make our website informative and entertaining. I'd like to think Townsquare Media's Andrew Kirk for getting me started and staying on me to get it right, and our digital managing editor John Taylor for all of his help. John has been a professional journalist for years and paid me the ultimate compliment by telling me that I was a good writer.

Here's looking ahead to reaching 3,00 in 2015!
