Chop Chop Brainiacs, time to get a move on. There’s less than two weeks left for the valley’s brightest students to apply for one of seven new scholarships at Heritage University.Applications for the Heritage Soar Scholarship are due Monday, March 3, 2014 at 5 p.m. Students can start the application process at “HUSoar.com,” a website built specifically for the scholarships. The merit-based scholarships are available to those students wanting to earn their degrees in one of five areas of study: nursing, business, the humanities, education, and the fields of science, technology and mathematics. Five of the scholarships are available to new Heritage University students, and two will be made available to existing students. The students selected will receive a full-tuition scholarship.

Heritage University produced a video to show prospective students how easy it is to apply for the HUSoar Scholarship. You can view it by visiting Heritage University’s YouTube page. On the video, a current student explains what is needed to complete the application.

Applications will be scored based on four criteria: high school grades, PSAT/SAT or Act Scores, a personal commitment statement, and the strength of a letter of recommendation. Finalists will be notified on or about April 1, 2014, and must complete an in-person interview in front of a panel of judges before an award will be made.
