On this MLK day our thoughts turn to equality and justice for all—not just America’s racial minorities.  Taking race out of it, if you think men and women have income equality, you need to think again.

A new survey of data  http://www.expertmarket.us/gender-pay-gap. reveals just how bad the wage gap really is. It varies around the country but it exists everywhere around the country.  For example: they found that in Louisiana men earn on average $16,000 more than women, while in New York they earn an average of $7,000 more. Amy Catlow, Director at Expert Market U.S. says, "It is very disheartening that we are still seeing a gender pay gap across the whole of America and such a disparity in wealth between men and women."

So when you see the marches taking place today in celebration of the life and the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, think about all the women out there-both black and

white - doing the same job as men for less pay.  Equality still has a ways to go.
