You see couples fight on TV all the time and often the spat involves throwing food!  Better to throw it than eat it when angry, because a new study reveals that arguing with a spouse can increase your risk for obesity. Researchers looked at 43 healthy couples who had been married for at least three years. They found that participants with both a mood disorder history and a hostile marriage burned an average of 31 fewer calories per hour than those from less hostile marriages. You would think yelling and throwing and jumping around would be exercise, but it’s not!

Those in hostile relationships apparently have higher levels of insulin, which contributes to how fat is stored, and also experienced spikes in the levels of triglycerides -- a type of fat -- in their blood. The fewer calories burned could add up to as much as 12 pounds gained each year. (Daily Mail)

So if you are going to fight with your wife make sure she is at least a bad cook, if not a bad shot!
