The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission invites you to check out the partial eclipse of the sun.

The viewing will run at Goldendale Observatory State Park in Klickitat County from 4:00 p.m to 7:oo p.m on May 20. Participants may view the 95 percent eclipse of the sun on the large screen monitor of the indoor theater. Live video images from the observatory’s solar telescope will display the moon’s passage between Earth and sun, creating the partial solar eclipse. The Discover Pass is required to attend this event.

This is one of many interpretive programs at Goldendale Observatory State Park. The observatory will play host to Discover Outer Space. This Centennial event on June 5, 2013, will allow visitors to watch the rare transit of Venus across the sun.
