The Yakima City Council Tuesday voted 5-2 to talk about repealing the city cruising ordinance at the next meeting, June 2. City officials want to talk about limits in cruising and look at ways to ease concerns.
Currently cruising is only allowed on the second and third Saturdays of June, July, August and September.
But recently people have been cruising Yakima Avenue outside of those dates breaking the law.
Council members Mayor Patricia Byers Brad Hill, Soneya Lund, Jason White and Eliana Macias voted in favor of talking about repealing the ordinance at the next meeting while Holly Cousens and Kay Funk voted no.
