Within the next two weeks you'll be able to enjoy a beer and use your credit card at the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market. Market officials say the market was recently endorsed by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board allowing the market to welcome three liquor vendors each Sunday consisting of wineries, breweries/microbreweries, and distilleries.

And good news if you carry a credit card instead of cash. In the next two weeks, the Market will be introducing what it calls ‘Market Bucks’ for both EBT and debit/credit card transactions. Market goers will be able to purchase $5 tokens at the Info Booth using their debit or credit card that can be used on any day of the Downtown Market with any vendor.  Market officials say the addition of the two new elements to the Market - the liquor offerings and Market Bucks -- will give people even more reason to visit the New Downtown Yakima Farmers’ Market. No specific date was released as to when the changes will happen but they're expected within the next two weeks.
