YUCK!! Wait, What? You’re Not Brushing and Flossing in Wa State?
Yakima residents are being urged to check their oral hygiene practices in light of a recent survey by Risas Dental, which highlights alarming trends in dental care across the nation. The question is simple do you pay attention to your teeth? Your breath? Do you feel pain when you eat? It's all about how you take care of teeth in your mouth. Apparently Washington State has some work ahead.
YOU GOTTA BE FLOSSING AND BRUSHING DAILY.......BUT DO YOU?
The survey reveals that Washington, along with Indiana and Pennsylvania, has some of the worst dental hygiene in the country, with an alarming 55% of residents in the states failing to brush twice daily or floss regularly. In Washington alone, nearly half (49%) of residents do not brush their teeth twice a day, significantly higher than the national average.
YOU GOTTA KEEP THAT MOUTH CLEAN
The experts emphasize the importance of brushing twice a day and flossing daily to remove plaque and bacteria, which can lead to cavities and gum disease. Risas Dental specialists warn that neglecting these vital habits doesn’t just threaten oral health; it’s also linked to serious health issues like heart disease and diabetes.
NOT MUCH BETTER IN THE OTHER TOP STATES
Other states with concerning oral hygiene statistics include Indiana (44%), Colorado (42%), and Illinois (41%).
As Yakima looks to improve its community health, dental professionals urge residents to prioritize their oral care routines to not only enhance their smiles but to safeguard their overall health. Now is a great time to evaluate your dental habits—how's your oral health, Yakima?
