Your Chance to Meet City Manager Candidates Tuesday Evening

The search for a new city manager is now narrowed down to 3 people. 32 year veteran manager Dick Zais retired earlier this month. Now the City Council has a big job…Pick the next person to lead the city in a new direction. A direction that will no doubt be one full of budget challenges. The three candidates Don Cooper, Tim Hacker and Jim Payne are expected to make a visit Tuesday where city council members and other department heads including a citizen panel will interview each candidate. Then from 6 to 7:30 Tuesday night a public event is set at the Yakima Convention Center. The individual interviews will continue on Wednesday.

The council could name a new city manager by July 19th.
