Over the river to Grandma's house? You'll soon have another way to cross the Yakima river and get to Grandma's place.
An open house to discuss phasing and design of the East-West Corridor Project will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm next Wednesday, April 17th, at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 N. 8th Street.
The open house is hosted by both the City.
of Yakima and Yakima County as a listening session for public comment for the project’s National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review,
The Project is designed to connect the growing neighborhood of Terrace Heights to the City of Yakima and relieve congestion along Yakima Avenue.
“Improvements to the transportation network are desperately needed due to the high rates of projected population growth for the Yakima area over the next 20 years", said Joan Davenport, Yakima's Director of Community Development.
East-West Corridor Project topics to be discussed during the open house include:
- Project development and environmental review process
- Construction staging
