Yakima Valley Districts Announce Weather-Related Cancellations, Delays
With snow and icy conditions around the Yakima Valley, several local school districts are canceling extracurricular activities for Tuesday (Jan. 8) and delaying some schedules for Wednesday.
West Valley School District Superintendent Mike Brophy has declared all after-school and evening activities for the West Valley School District have been canceled for Tuesday due to the inclement weather.
The Wapato School District also has canceled all of its after-school activities for Tuesday due to winter weather conditions. The cancellation includes all sporting events and practices, credit retrieval at the high schools and the after-school reading programs.
Highland School District has announced that all classes will be delayed one hour Wednesday (Jan. 9).
