Apple farmers in the Yakima Valley are in a hurry to pick their fruit before freezing conditions come in tonight.

Orchards are full of pickers trying to save as much fruit as they can. They are mostly pink lady apples.
Weather forecasters expect temperatures to drop down into the twenties overnight for the rest of the week. That has farmers worried.

"When the cold temperatures come any grower hates to lose fruit on the tree you've raised it all year long and at the very long it can freeze and be un-useful,” said farmer Jim Doornick.

Farmers say anything below 24 degrees is dangerous for their crops.
