Yakima Training Center’s John Wayne Trail To Reopen — Dave’s Diary

You know it takes a lot to hold down the Duke but last year’s Saddle Mountain Fire took its toll on the John Wayne Trail located on the Yakima Training Center. 

A news release from Joint Base Lewis-McChord indicates six wooden trestles along the trail were damaged or destroyed leaving the trail unsafe for recreational use –until now.

The twenty-two mile section of the John Wayne Trail located on Yakima Training Center reopens at 10 a.m. Friday with a joint ribbon cutting ceremony at the East Trailhead.
