Yakima Talking About Banning Criminals From Parks
The Yakima City council is expected to talk about an ordinance today that could help in the fight against local gangs. The council is considering a new law that would allow police to issue trespass warnings to people who've committed crimes in local parks. City officials say it's an effort to get a handle on the gangs and the crimes they commit at local parks. Police say it would be a helpful tool. A violation of the trespass warning could result in jail time and a fine.
The Yakima City Council is set to meet at 2pm at city hall today because of the National Night Out activities.
