Yakima School District Offers Cost Of Living Increase
The Yakima School District has offered teachers in the Yakima Education Association cost of living increases and a lot of teachers in the district reportedly are not happy with the offer. The District has offered a 3.3 percent cost of living increase. Teachers contend the proposal doesn't meet the minimum state requirement for base salaries for teachers in the Washington State.
The Yakima Education Association is expected to meet again on Friday with the district administration to talk further about the living wage increase.
Toppenish School District employees have accepted an offer from administrators for an 18.5 percent pay increase for the 2018/2019 school year. The recent offer from the administration is an increase from the last offer of 8 percent.
