Repair Work on 64th Avenue in Yakima Thursday
Yakima city officials are busy with a lot of summer work this season and the work is impacting traffic in the city. The work continues Thursday when a section of 64th Avenue will be reduced to one lane each direction July 28th, for a stormwater manhole repair project.
The work happens Thursday morning
City officials say the project will impact traffic on 64th Avenue between Tieton Drive and Nob Hill Boulevard during scheduled work hours of 6:00 am to 10:00 am. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the work area. You may want to avoid the area because of heavy traffic. If you do drive through the area city officials say drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
City officials remind drivers will see delays
During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes until project completion.
The schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
Contact Wastewater Maintenance Supervisor Robert Brown at 509-406-7103 for more information about the project.
