Overpopulation at the Yakima Humane Society

Currently, the kennels are full of dogs just waiting to find their forever homes so here is the break-down

  • The Adoption Fees for Large Dogs Will Be Waived Friday, November 18th, 2022
  • Small Adult Dogs and Puppies Will Have Their Adoption Fee Cut in Half

What Can I Expect At The Yakima Humane Society's Special Dog Adoption Event?

Be prepared to wait. There is limited space and staff is sparse so groups of people may not be escorted back like last time. There will be no holds on animals. First come, first served. If you have been thinking about adopting a dog, this is the perfect time to take advantage and just think how much more wonderful this holiday season will be with your new best friend.

Please Don't Make This a Holiday Impulse Adoption

Dogs take a lot of care, so adopting one as a gift for the holidays for the kids might not be the best idea without some forethought. They do cost money and crave attention so please be mindful of all that when making your decision.
