Yakima Greenway Fire Thursday Afternoon

The second fire on the Yakima Greenway in the last week was reported Thursday afternoon on the Yakima Greenway along I-82  in the same general area where a fire kept firefighters busy on Saturday.
Yakima Fire Department Capt. Jeff Pfaff says firefighters were called at about 3:20 p.m. to the area of the McGuire Community Playground. They found a small brush fire that was quickly doused. The westbound lanes of I-82 were blocked while during the fire which was about 2 acres. The cause remains under investigation.
