Authorities say deputies tried to contact a person early Thursday but the driver fled eventually crashing into a field in the 500 block of North McKinley Road near Toppenish after being stopped by spike strips.
The suspect crashed and jumped out of the vehicle before the shooting
After the crash the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.
A K9 officer was able to find the suspect and that's when a Yakima County Sheriff's Deputy fired a shot killing the man.
