Recycling is mainly handled in Yakima County by Yakima Waste Systems on a weekly basis, but there are many items that they will not accept. Knowing what not to put in the recycling bin at your home or apartment complex will save you countless hours of worry and save you some money in penalty fees.

It is important to be intentional about what you recycle because there is nothing more frustrating than lugging your trash to the bin only to discover it wasn't taken away by the garbage collectors because it's not on the "approved" list.
