The Yakima County Auditors office is closed Monday but when the doors open on Tuesday a lot of people will be watching to see how many ballots are left to count from the general election. That's because after Friday's ballot count only four votes separate Yakima City Council District 1 candidates Eliana Macias and Kenton Gartrell. As of Fridays count Gartrell currently leads with 307 votes Macias with 303 votes.

So far about 31,000 of the 39,993 ballots returned have been counted. The counting of ballots is officially over when the election is certified on November 26.

The counting is expected to resume Tuesday afternoon.
