Yakima Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman in connection to the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man and the wounding of a 1-year-old child on February 9 at a Yakima home.

POLICE WERE CALLED AFTER GETTING A 911 CALL

Yakima Police Detectives spent days putting the case together to arrest the suspect. However it's not clear where she was taken into custody. The shooting happened at a home in the 1400 block of Folsom Avenue. Police now say the suspect is the mother of the child and girlfriend of the man who was killed.
Police were called to the home at 10:40 pm Sunday, February 9 after getting a 911 call.
The Yakima County Coroner's Office identifies the man who died as 21-year-old David Hernandez of Yakima.

THE 1-YEAR-OLD BOY WAS TAKEN TO A YAKIMA HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT

The boy injured in the shooting was taken to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police say the boy is expected to make a full recovery but we don't know his condition today.
The woman suspect has not been identified as she's now being held in the Yakima County jail. She's expected to make an appearance in Yakima County Superior Court on Thursday.

THE SUSPECT NOW FACES NUMEROUS CHARGES IN COURT

She faces numerous charges including First-Degree-Murder DV, Third-Degree-assault DV, Reckless Endangerment and First-Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Police say the shooting was the result of a "domestic incident" and not gang related.
Police responded to the shooting after getting a 911 call of someone crying. They found both victims with gunshot wounds. The investigation continues today.
