While the Yakima Valley's hop harvest is getting a lot of press these days the area's wine grape harvest is also in the spotlight. Barb Glover with Wine Yakima Valley says the harvest started last month and it's almost finished.  She says it was a cool winter that didn't see any major damage and a warm spring and summer that helped fill the grapes with sugar.
Glover says all that means there's going to be some great wines produced in the Yakima valley in the coming year.
The next big wine event in the valley is called Catch The Crush. It's set for October 12 and 13 at area wineries. You can stomp grapes, check those juicy sugar levels and do comparative tastings from grapes to juice to the bottle. for more information check wineyakimavalley.org
