Water will be turned off on Thursday and Friday, May 6 and 7 on a section of South 1st Street as Yakima city crews get busy with water line work. Not only will there be no water traffic restrictions will also be in place on South 1st Street between Mead Avenue and Washington Avenue. City officials say work on the project will begin at 7:00 a.m. and last until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and from 3:00 a.m. to 11:00 am on Friday. City of Yakima water customers in the project area can expect water outages during the project work hours. As for traffic, the work will force traffic to be limited to one lane in both directions in the project area.
