The Creeper Dragsters are powered by either a 12 or 24 volt starter motor from a car or a truck. When building the Creeper dragster, a mechanics creeper must be part of the frame, electric power only not exceeding 24 volts DC, and also include fully functional steering and brakes. The Creeper’s can reach in the area of 40 miles per hour in 100 feet on its own battery power. Last year a group showed up with a Creeper Dragster that also had airpower incorporated in to the power train, which was a great crowd pleaser.

A Fire Mechanic which is also referred to as an Emergency Vehicle Technician that works behind the scenes at Fire Departments maintaining and repairing Fire Trucks, Aerial Ladder Trucks, Ambulances, and just about anything that has to do with the Fire Service. Emergency Vehicle Technicians are held to very high standards that require certifications to perform work on the trucks and continually take classes to further their knowledge, obtain certifications, and education. The Washington Fire Mechanics Association logo states “We might not be the pride of the fire service, but without us, the pride don't ride!”

This annual Fire Mechanics conference allows Fire Department Mechanics to gain education for certifications to work on fire apparatus, plus show their mechanical abilities to build a Creeper Dragster. The conference attracts Fire Mechanics from all over the State of Washington, plus other states such as Oregon, Idaho, California, Alaska, and also Canada.

This is great fun for the family along with free admission. Come and join in on the fun watching the Creeper Dragsters tearing up the pavement.
