A man who burst into a Toppenish motel room looking for his girlfriend and slashed a woman in the face was sentenced to 11-and-a-half years in prison on Monday in County Superior Court. 31-year-old Joey Andy was recently convicted of first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. The Wapato resident is sitting in the county jail today. The incident took place in January, and the 38-year-old victim suffered a slash wound to her face requiring some 41 stitches. Police say Andy pushed his way into the hotel room in search of his girlfriend, who was hiding inside. During a struggle, Lydia Howard was slashed in the face.
