Voters in Selah and Prosser rejected school bonds Tuesday to upgrade facilities and build new schools. For the second time this year voters in Selah turned down a 39 million dollar measure with 51 percent report...not the 60 percent supermajority needed for passage. In February 58 percent of voters supported the measure to build a new junior high and upgrade other schools in the district. School officials say they may ask voters again next year.

In Prosser voters also turned down a 39 million dollar school measure with nearly 55 percent voting in favor...again not the 60 percent supermajority needed for passage.
