Today is Election Day in Washington state, and many people are waiting until the last minute to vote. Statewide, about 680,000 of the nearly 4 million ballots sent out had been returned as of Monday -- that's a turnout of about 17 percent.

In Yakima County, 21,325 of the 107, 720 ballots sent out have been returned -- about 19 percent. Auditor Charles Ross still expects a 38 percent turnout, and officials expect the statewide turnout to be around 46 percent.

You can mail in your ballot today or drop it off inside the Yakima County Courthouse, 128 N. Second St.

A 24-hour drop box on the north side of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, just across from the courthouse, is also open. There are also two two Lower Valley drop-off locations: Toppenish High School and Sunnyside Work Source.
