Union Gap, WA – Valley Mall is partnering with the Memorial Foundation to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The entire month of October, a paper pink purse and a pink bead necklace will be for sale at the Valley Mall Information desk for $1 each.  100% of the proceeds go to local treatment, prevention and survivorship programs.

“I work with over 876 breast cancer patients each year,” stated Vicky Jones, M.D., Director of Oncology, North Star Lodge Cancer Care Center, “and while survival rates have soared over the past ten years, the journey for breast cancer patients and their families is still difficult both mentally and physically.”  “If patients must worry about how they will pay for services, they are distracted and stressed to a point that recovery may seem overwhelming,” she said.

“Valley Mall is very happy to do what it can to help breast cancer patients in our community,” said Allie Stewart, Manager of Valley Mall, “It is our hope that we will be able to write a nice check to the Breast Cancer Campaign from the sale of these items,” she said.

The Breast Cancer campaign raises money for the Memorial Foundation’s Breast Cancer fund.

The fund supports patient services at North Star Lodge Cancer Care Center, ‘Ohana Memorial’s Mammography Center, and The Springs, Memorial Rehabilitation and Occupational Medicine.
