Four blocks of Lincoln Avenue will be closed to all traffic most of the upcoming two weeks due to road construction.

Road work between 52nd and 56th Avenues will close Lincoln between the two roads most of each day from Sept. 8 through Sept. 18 according a city press release. The city will set up detour routes around the shutdown, but delays are to be expected throughout the two-week stretch.

Access to homes and business will be maintained throughout the work.

The city also released the list of streets that will be affected by the summer-long grind-and-overlay project for the upcoming week.

The following roads will have periodic lane closures during the week between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

  • Lincoln Avenue between 1st Street and 10th Street
  • MLK, Jr. Boulevard between 1st Avenue and Pierce Avenue
  • Mead Avenue between 15th Avenue and 1st Street
  • Washington Avenue between 15th Avenue and 1st Street
  • 6th Street between Pacific Avenue and Lincoln Avenue
  • 3rd Avenue between Yakima Avenue and D Street
  • 4th Avenue between Yakima Avenue and Lincoln Avenue
  • 5th Avenue between Walnut Street and Yakima Avenue

Overnight closures will happen on the following roads between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

  • 5th Avenue from Walnut Street to Yakima Avenue
  • 4th Avenue from Yakima Avenue to Lincoln Avenue
  • 3rd Avenue from Yakima Avenue to D Street
  • 6th Street from Lincoln Avenue to Pacific Avenue
  • Lincoln Avenue from Oregon Avenue to 1st Avenue
  • MLK, Jr. Boulevard from Pierce Street to 1st Avenue
  • Pierce Avenue from Summitview Avenue to Lincoln Avenue
  • Lincoln Avenue from 1st Street to 10th Street
  • MLK, Jr. Boulevard from 1st Street to 8th Street
  • Walnut Street from 1st Street to 8th Avenue
  • Mead Avenue from 11th Avenue to Fair Avenue
