Two people shot in Toppenish on Monday have been treated and released from a Toppenish hospital. Twenty-six-year-old Christian Gonzalez of Grandview is now facing two counts of assault, drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm after being arrested in connection with the incident.
Gonzalez is being held in the Yakima County jail.
The two victims were shot in the drive-by shooting at about 6:20 p.m. Monday while walking in the 900 block of West First Avenue.
Gonzalez was arrested after police stopped his vehicle as it was leaving the area where the shooting happened.
Two passengers in his car were also taken into custody on unrelated felony warrants.
