Two people were shot in two different shootings in Toppenish on Sunday. Toppenish Police officers were first called at about 8:00 p.m. to the 400 block of Maple Court where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the back. The man was rushed to a Yakima hospital where he remains Today. No suspects were taken into custody and police aren't saying what lead to the shooting.
Then at about midnight officers were called to the McDonald's restaurant in the 700 block of West First Avenue for another shooting. They found a man who had been shot but again no suspects were arrested and no details about the motive of the shooting.
Detectives are busy looking for clues that will lead them to an arrest.
Police in Toppenish are also looking for those responsible for the wounding of a man and a woman in a gang related incident reported October 22. Authorities say that shooting was gang related.
They're not saying if the most recent shootings were connected or if they had anything to do with gangs or the shooting reported on October 22.
